About this tool
Common questions
How is my risk calculated?
We use the ACC/AHA Pooled Cohort Equations, a standard medical method that combines your age, sex, race, blood pressure, cholesterol, diabetes, smoking and treatment status into a 10-year risk of heart attack or stroke. It is validated for ages 40–79. Your lifestyle answers shape the advice and a separate educational Heart Health Score, which is not a risk percentage.
Is this a diagnosis?
No. It is an educational estimate. Only a doctor, with an examination and tests, can tell you about your heart. If you already have heart disease, this estimate does not apply — please see your cardiologist.
I'm South Asian — is the result accurate for me?
The equations were built mainly from White and African American groups and can underestimate risk in South Asians. We show your estimate with that caveat and recommend discussing it with a cardiologist.
Is my information saved?
Only if you choose to. Calculating a result stores nothing. If you save your report and share contact details, with your consent, we keep an encrypted copy for 24 months and you can delete it yourself at any time.
